Mark Slawson
A native of the Finger Lakes Region in New York State, Mark has lived the past 30+ years in North Carolina and currently lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife, Jacqui. He paints from his personal experiences and his lifetime fascination with the nature that is our wilderness rivers, lakes and streams.
Mark’s research and art adventures to sketch, paint and observe his subjects in their natural habitat, have taken him from North Carolina’s Outer Banks to Alaska’s Baranoff Islands, from the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mountains to the Grand Tetons, Mt Rainier and to the Masai Mara in Kenya’s Savanna.
Mark’s artwork has received top honors and he has participated in various wildlife art shows across the country including North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, and New York. Mark’s artwork has contributed to such conservation groups as Quail Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, the Audubon Society and he has had several appearances as a guest artist on the PBS show “Paint! Paint! Paint!”.
