Acrylic painting on canvas depicting a barred owl perched in the safety of a big meadow tree offering a glimpse of Grand Father Mountain. This painting is as much about the tree as it is the owl. The barred owl is one of my favorite owls and I’ve painting a number of them and often search them out in urban settings as much as  I do in thick woodlands and river bottoms.
